1. Dupahiya Season 2

- Where to watch: Prime Video
- Release date: October 1, 2026 (streaming now)
- Language: Hindi
- Genre: Comedy-drama (Hindi)
- Episodes: 8
- Cast / creators: Gajraj Rao, Renuka Shahane, Sparsh Shrivastava, Bhuvan Arora, Shivani Raghuvanshi, Dinesh Lal Yadav "Nirahua"; directed by Sonam Nair
- Early ratings: Rotten Tomatoes: 100% (5 critic reviews)
Why watch: Back to Dhadakpur, the crime-free village where one stolen motorbike once turned into a full-blown panchayat drama. Season 1 won hearts because it felt like a Panchayat cousin with sharper jokes, and Season 2 keeps the small-town warmth while turning up the chaos. Gajraj Rao and Renuka Shahane remain the show's comic backbone, and Bhojpuri superstar Nirahua joining the cast is a genuinely fun twist. If you want something light, rooted and binge-friendly to watch with family after a long day, this is the easiest recommendation on the list.
2. East of Eden

- Where to watch: Netflix
- Release date: October 1, 2026 (streaming now)
- Language: English
- Genre: Period drama, limited series
- Episodes: 7
- Cast / creators: Florence Pugh, Christopher Abbott, Mike Faist; adapted by Zoe Kazan
Why watch: John Steinbeck's sprawling saga of the Trask family finally gets the prestige-TV treatment it deserves. Zoe Kazan's seven-episode adaptation stretches across generations of sibling rivalry, ambition and betrayal, and Florence Pugh takes on Cathy Ames, one of American literature's most fascinatingly cold characters. With Christopher Abbott and Mike Faist alongside her, this is the month's heavyweight acting showcase. It is slow-burn by design, so watch it on a weekend when you can sink in. Fans of Little Women or Succession-style family warfare will feel right at home.
3. Carrie

- Where to watch: Prime Video
- Release date: October 7, 2026 (streaming now)
- Language: English
- Genre: Horror, drama
- Episodes: 8
- Cast / creators: Summer H. Howell, Samantha Sloyan; showrunner Mike Flanagan
- Early ratings: Rotten Tomatoes: 85% critics, 83% audience (via CBR); Tom’s Guide: 4/5
Why watch: Mike Flanagan, the man behind The Haunting of Hill House, Midnight Mass and The Fall of the House of Usher, takes on Stephen King's very first novel, and that combination alone makes this the Halloween event of the year. Summer H. Howell plays Carrie White, the bullied teen with terrifying telekinetic powers, while Flanagan regular Samantha Sloyan plays her zealous mother Margaret. Expect Flanagan's trademark mix of real emotional pain and slow-creeping dread rather than cheap jump scares. All eight episodes drop together, so clear a night and keep the lights on.
4. Eyes

- Where to watch: SonyLIV
- Release date: October 9, 2026 (streaming now)
- Language: Malayalam
- Genre: Crime thriller (Malayalam)
- Episodes: Not announced
- Cast / creators: Kani Kusruti, Nikhila Vimal, Shruti Ramachandran, Saniya Iyyappan
Why watch: Malayalam OTT has quietly become India's most reliable source of smart thrillers, and Eyes looks set to continue that streak. Police officer Tina Sebastian investigates a chain of disturbing cases involving women, and as mental-health professionals join the investigation, the show digs into the psychology of stalking: obsession, control and the warning signs we tend to miss. With a cast led by Kani Kusruti, Nikhila Vimal, Shruti Ramachandran and Saniya Iyyappan, it is a performance-driven, socially sharp watch. Malayalam thrillers have a loyal pan-India audience for good reason.
5. VisionQuest

- Where to watch: JioHotstar (India) / Disney+
- Release date: October 14, 2026 (coming oct 14)
- Language: English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu
- Genre: Superhero, sci-fi
- Episodes: 8 (2 on Oct 14, then weekly until the Nov 11 finale)
- Cast / creators: Paul Bettany, James Spader (voice of Ultron)
Why watch: Paul Bettany's Vision is back, and this time he is a rebooted synthezoid trying to figure out who he really is while AI personalities rattle around inside his programming. The headline news for Marvel fans: James Spader returns as the voice of Ultron. The series also introduces Thomas Shepherd, a mysterious boy who may be tied to Vision's past, so WandaVision fans should pay close attention. In a year where AI is everyone's favourite topic, a show about a machine questioning its own identity feels perfectly timed. This is the must-watch for every MCU loyalist.

6. The Diplomat Season 4

- Where to watch: Netflix
- Release date: October 15, 2026 (coming oct 15)
- Language: English
- Genre: Political thriller
- Episodes: 8
- Cast / creators: Keri Russell, Rufus Sewell, Allison Janney, Bradley Whitford
Why watch: Few shows make geopolitics this addictive. Keri Russell's Kate Wyler is back, facing the fallout of last season's shocks as the US-UK relationship gets messier and the White House gets more reckless. Bradley Whitford returns as First Gentleman Todd Penn, which guarantees plenty of sparkling, rapid-fire verbal combat. The Diplomat is the rare thriller that is both brainy and genuinely funny, with cliffhangers that make 'one more episode' impossible to resist. If you have not started yet, there is still time to catch up on the first three seasons before October 15.
7. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2

- Where to watch: Netflix
- Release date: October 20, 2026 (coming oct 20)
- Language: Japanese (original)
- Genre: Anime, sci-fi action
- Episodes: 10
- Cast / creators: Set in the Cyberpunk 2077 universe, with a brand-new crew of Night City mercenaries
Why watch: The first Edgerunners was a gamer and anime-fan phenomenon that even revived interest in Cyberpunk 2077 itself. The follow-up is a standalone 10-episode story with a brand-new crew of mercenaries in Night City, built around redemption and revenge, so you do not need to have seen Season 1 (though you absolutely should). Expect neon-soaked visuals, brutal action and the emotional gut-punch the original was famous for. For India's huge anime and gaming audience, this is the most hyped animated drop of the month.
8. The Terminal List Season 2

- Where to watch: Prime Video
- Release date: October 21, 2026 (coming oct 21)
- Language: English
- Genre: Action thriller
- Episodes: 8
- Cast / creators: Chris Pratt, Tom Hopper, Constance Wu, Dar Salim, Luke Hemsworth, Gabriel Luna; based on Jack Carr’s novel True Believer
Why watch: Chris Pratt returns as Navy SEAL James Reece in the second season of Prime Video's gritty, psychological revenge thriller based on Jack Carr's best-selling novels. Season 1 was a word-of-mouth hit for its no-nonsense action and military realism, and the spin-off Dark Wolf widened the world further. Adapted from Carr's second novel, True Believer, Season 2 becomes a globe-trotting espionage thriller, with a CIA-cornered Reece chasing a conspiracy from Moscow to Langley that reaches into his own family history. If your idea of a perfect weekend binge is Jack Ryan or Reacher, put this at the top of your Prime watchlist.
9. Nobody Wants This Season 3

- Where to watch: Netflix
- Release date: October 22, 2026 (coming oct 22)
- Language: English
- Genre: Romantic comedy
- Episodes: Not announced
- Cast / creators: Kristen Bell, Adam Brody
Why watch: The best rom-com on streaming is back. Agnostic podcaster Joanne (Kristen Bell) and rabbi Noah (Adam Brody) are now moving in together, which means the question is no longer will they but can they. Bell and Brody's chemistry is the show's secret weapon, and the writing nails the funny, awkward reality of blending two families, two belief systems and two very different personalities. Episodes are short and breezy, making it ideal for a weeknight. Anyone who has navigated an inter-community relationship in India will find it surprisingly relatable.
10. Lupin Part 4

- Where to watch: Netflix
- Release date: October 23, 2026 (coming oct 23)
- Language: French
- Genre: Heist thriller (French)
- Episodes: 8
- Cast / creators: Omar Sy
Why watch: Omar Sy's gentleman thief Assane Diop is finally back after a three-year wait. Part 3 left him behind bars, but nobody seriously expected a prison to hold him for long. Part 4 jumps four years ahead and, finds Assane, determined to serve his sentence, forced back into action when a copycat frames him for museum heists, which promises the elaborate cons, disguises and twisty reveals that made Lupin one of Netflix's biggest non-English hits ever, including in India. All eight episodes land together. Watch it in the original French with subtitles for the full Omar Sy charm.
How we picked
We only included series with a confirmed October 2026 premiere, cross-checked against official platform announcements (Netflix Tudum, Prime Video and Disney+) and at least one independent release calendar. Then we weighed buzz, the track record of the creators and cast, reviews where they exist, and whether the show is genuinely worth your time. Ratings are shown only where a published source exists; shows that have not premiered yet have none. We also made sure the list works for Indian viewers, mixing Hindi and Malayalam originals with global hits available here.
